During April and May 2025, Lower Murray Water will be undertaking a water main renewal in Jacaranda Street, between Kiewa and Jamieson Avenues, Red Cliffs.
The new water main will be located just beyond the kerb on the eastern side of the street.
To facilitate this necessary work, there will be the need for staged restrictions to parking along the eastern side of Jacaranda Street. However, please rest assured that access to businesses and residences in the affected area will be maintained. Footpaths will remain open, except for short periods when property connections are carried out.
The anticipated start date is Tuesday 15 April 2025 and works are expected to be completed in under 5 weeks.
The existing water main, laid around 1950, has reached the end of its serviceable life. Proactive renewal of the water mains will reduce the likelihood of unexpected water outages and ensure a reliable supply for the community into the future.
The works will be conducted during April and May 2025. Our anticipated start date is Tuesday 15 April 2025 for preparation works, with the main construction commencing after the Easter break and expected to be completed within five weeks. We will strive to complete the works as quickly as possible while ensuring works are carried out to a high standard.
Once the works commence, staged parking restrictions will occur along the eastern kerb between Kiewa and Jamieson Avenues as works progress. Appropriate traffic controls will be put in place to ensure the safety of residents, customers and workers and to ensure access to properties is maintained.
Yes, footpaths will remain open, and customers will have access to businesses throughout the works.
The main construction works will be adjacent to the nature strip and minimal excavation will take place during connection of properties to the new main. We will endeavour to minimise the likelihood of damage to footpaths and nature strip sprinkler systems; however, rest assured any damage to footpaths, sprinkler pipes and fittings will be rectified as a part of our works.
There will be short interruptions in water supply during the connection of properties to the new main. These disruptions will be kept to a minimum and customers will be notified prior to any planned interruptions. Lower Murray Water will work with businesses to ensure any impact to their operations is minimised.
We value your input. Our team will be reaching out to affected residents to gather feedback and tailor our approach to minimise disruptions. Residents and business owners with any concerns leading up to the works can contact David Zacher on 0477 561 187 or by email at david.zacher@lmw.vic.gov.au.
