During March and April 2025, Lower Murray Water will be undertaking a water main renewal in Heath Street, between Kiewa and Jamieson Avenues, Red Cliffs.
The new water main will be located within the centre median strip.
To facilitate this necessary work, there will be the need for traffic management adjacent to the construction area. However, please rest assured that access to residences in the affected area will be maintained. Footpaths will remain open, except for short periods when property connection operations are carried out.
Works are expected to be completed in approximately 4 weeks.
The existing water main, laid in 1950, has reached the end of its serviceable life. Proactive renewal of the water mains will reduce the likelihood of disruptions as a result of leaks.
The works will be conducted during April 2025. Our anticipated start date is Monday 31 March 2025 and works are expected to be completed in approximately four weeks. We will strive to complete the works as quickly as possible while ensuring works are carried out to a high standard.
There will be the need for some parking restrictions adjacent to the construction works. Appropriate traffic controls will be put in place to ensure the safety of residents, customers and workers and to ensure access to properties is maintained.
Footpaths will remain open, except for short periods when property connection operations are carried out.
We will endeavour to minimise the likelihood of damage to footpaths and nature strip sprinkler systems by utilising underground boring wherever possible; however, rest assured any damage to footpaths, sprinkler pipes and fittings will be rectified as a part of our works.
There will be short interruptions in water supply during the connection of properties to the new main. These disruptions will be kept to a minimum and customers will be notified prior to any planned interruptions. Lower Murray Water will work with businesses to ensure any impact to their operations is minimised.
We value your input. Our team will be reaching out to affected residents to gather feedback and tailor our approach to minimise disruptions. Residents and business owners with any concerns leading up to the works can contact David Zacher on 0477 561 187 or by email at david.zacher@lmw.vic.gov.au .
