During February 2025, Lower Murray Water will be undertaking a water main renewal on the western side of Wattle Street between Ovens Avenue and Nursery Ridge Road.
The anticipated start date is Monday 3 February 2025.
The existing water main, originally laid in 1951, is now reaching the end of its serviceable life. Proactive renewal of the water main will reduce the likelihood of disruptions as a result of leaks; the renewal works also forms part of planned upgrades to the Red Cliffs urban water reticulation system.

The works will be conducted during February 2025. Our anticipated start date is Monday 3 February 2025 and works are expected to be completed within three weeks. We will strive to complete the works as quickly as possible while ensuring works are carried out to a high standard.
Once the works commence, staged parking restrictions will occur along the western kerb as works progress. Lanes may be closed to traffic when connecting properties to the new main. Appropriate traffic controls will be put in place to ensure the safety of residents and workers and to ensure access by residents to their properties.
Yes, footpaths will remain open
We will endeavour to minimise the likelihood of damage to nature strip sprinkler systems; however, rest assured any damage to pipes and fittings will be rectified as a part of our works.
There will be short interruptions in water supply during the connection of properties to the new main. These disruptions should not exceed 2 hours and customers will be notified prior to any planned interruptions.
We value your input. Our team will be reaching out to affected residents to gather feedback and tailor our approach to minimise disruptions. Residents with any concerns leading up to the works can contact David Zacher on 0477 561 187 or by email at david.zacher@lmw.vic.gov.au
While we aim for timely completion, unforeseen issues or weather events may cause delays. We appreciate your patience and understanding in such situations.
Absolutely. We are genuinely concerned about our customers and committed to working collaboratively. Whilst we cannot eliminate them altogether, we plan to minimise disruptions to your businesses or residence.
Feel free to contact us with any specific concerns or questions you may have. We are here to address them and ensure the smooth progress of the project. Your understanding and cooperation during these works are greatly appreciated.
