time Completed

Lower Murray Water will be undertaking essential water main replacement works on the western side of Fitzroy Street, between Wellington and Scoresby Streets, Kerang.

Works will be undertaken during the months of July and August 2024, commencing Tuesday 23 July 2024 and lasting approximately six weeks.

To facilitate this necessary work, there will be the need for some lane closures and staged restrictions to parking in the immediate area. However, please rest assured that access to businesses in the affected areas will be maintained. Footpaths will remain open, except for short periods when specific localised tapping operations will be carried out.

For more information, please contact David Zacher on 0477 561 187.

These works are necessary to ensure all water infrastructure under Gannawarra Shire’s planned streetscape works is renewed prior to construction. The existing water main was installed in 1951. Replacing it now will prevent unplanned works due to leaks and bursts, ensuring a reliable water supply.

The works will be conducted during July and August 2024. Our proposed start date is 23 July 2024 and works are anticipated to take six weeks. We will strive to complete the works as quickly as possible while ensuring works are carried out to a high standard.

Yes, early in the main replacement works the parking lane on the western side of Fitzroy Street between Wellington and Scoresby Streets will be temporarily closed, and staged parking restrictions will occur during this stage of the works. Foot access to businesses will remain open.

During the property connection replacement phase sections of the parking lane on the eastern side of Fitzroy Street between Wellington and Scoresby Streets will be temporarily closed, and staged parking along the northern kerb will occur during this stage of the works. Foot access to businesses will remain open.

There will be short interruptions in water supply during connection of the new main to the existing system and during swap over of property connections to the new main. These disruptions will be kept to a minimum and customers will be notified prior to any planned interruptions.

We value your input. Our team will be reaching out to affected businesses and residents to gather feedback and tailor our approach to minimise disruptions. Leading up to the works you can contact David Zacher on 0477 561 187 or by email at david.zacher@lmw.vic.gov.au .
