Electrician
We are looking for two dependable and team-orientated people to join our Electrical Team, based in Mildura, with travel to Robinvale when required. This team is responsible for the efficient delivery of maintenance to our plant and equipment to support our customers and region to prosper.
Mildura – Fulltime – Band 2 ($72,720 – $82,892)
Lower Murray Water (LMW) is a water corporation providing services to around 80,000 urban and rural customers along the Murray River. Our service region lies within the traditional lands of First Nations Peoples, starting from Barapa Barapa (Koondrook), travelling downstream along the Murray River through Latji Latji (Mildura) and flowing to Ngintait at the South Australian border. With over 200 staff located in and around Mildura, Swan Hill, Kerang and Robinvale, our vision is for a healthy, sustainable water future.
We are seeking 2 dependable and team-orientated people to join our Electrical Team, based in Mildura, with travel to Robinvale when required. This team is responsible for the efficient delivery of maintenance to our plant and equipment to support our customers and region to prosper.
About the role:
Reporting directly to the Team Leader – Electrical, this ‘hands on’ role will work within a team and support the safe maintenance and operation of assets across LMW’s irrigation, drainage, potable water and sewer systems including pumps, motors and starter equipment, PLC, Telemetry and SCADA networks. Prior water industry experience is advantageous, however previous experience in similar industries will be considered.
Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Contribute to a safety-first culture.
- Perform routine and reactive maintenance on electrical equipment such as pumps, motors, control panels within water and wastewater facilities.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical faults to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and plant in a safe, clean and serviceable condition.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical diagrams, and technical documents.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical systems
- Always represent LMW professionally.
- Being flexible with availability and hours, overtime and out-of-hours work will be required, as will forming part of an on-call roster.
- Proven experience in the direction and supervision of apprentices and contractors.
About you:
We require a self-motivated person who is safety conscious looking to work in a fast-paced team environment. To be successful in this role, you will have the following:
- Electrical trade qualification
- Experience with PLC’s and VSD’s
- Instrument and Control certificates/experience desired, but not essential
- Safety first approach to all works
- Experience in either water industry, civil or general construction desirable, but not essential
- Demonstrated sound communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Problem-solving mindset and a proactive approach to maintenance.
- Proven experience in the direction and supervision of apprentices and contractors.
- Current drivers’ licence
- Construction card
- Must have the right to work in Australia.
